The Origin of the Concept
The eyes of humans are the part that can express many emotions, which also can easily trigger the emotions of others. So if I want to explore the question that how to influence the emotion of my users, make an installation of Animatronic Eyes is definitely an idea worth trying.

building process
Make a "one eye" prototype
Before I finally built and printed the model of animatronic eyes, I’d made a prototype to test its physical mechanism and the codes. After testing, I found some issues with the model.

Modify 3d model in SketchUp for architecture
The problems of the original design mainly come from two aspects:
1. the distance between 3D printing parts on the plate is too short;
2. the structure of the joints connecting the upper and lower eyelids are not functioning well with 3D printing;
So I made some changes.
1. Amplify the distance

2. Change the structure of the joints
